Today starts out like every other journal entry, but a slight twist…
Alarm goes off at 6:45 am
take care of some business
let the dogs out
turn on the coffee because I forgot to make it before bed (that auto timed button doesn’t work when you forget to put coffee and water in the machine)
fill the dog bowls (coffee first…priorities)
let the dogs in, well really just young loyal dog because she’s waiting at the front door
yell for older stubborn dog a couple times to come in
give up and shut the door because it’s cold and I forgot my house shoes next to the bed
go put house shoes on and give a loud shhhhhhhhh to the loyal, now annoying dog because she’s hungry
go open the front door again and yell for stubborn dog
see stubborn dog taking care of some business on his own
realize I am standing outside watching my dog poop with no coat and the temp is whopping 2 degrees
start to walk inside and hear the steps of stubborn dog coming in
You get the point, I have a morning routine like 97.3% of the world, but by the time you are reading this I am working my first full day at Get Fresh! Table & Market, a business I am starting. A business that will allow me to still focus on family dinner and maybe put some change in my pocket along the way.
Since Time at the Table began in May 2010, I have dreamed of this moment. Today, I get to take the concept of building a community hub where people make choices that affect their mind, bodies and soul and it all focusses around food.
I am firm believer that we all have a dream laid out for us and I’m glad I finally woke up to mine. If you have donated, liked us on Facebook, followed us on Twitter, participated in a cooking class or simply enjoyed a family dinner.
